Banking sector is becoming one of the most chosen career choices by students now-a-days. There are lots of jobs opening in public and private sector banks. Most of the job seekers don’t know the procedure  or eligibility criteria to apply for the  clerical, PO and officer jobs. We are here providing the very common eligibility criteria to apply for any bank job. As you all know about that, IBPS has the responsibility to held recruitment exams for various banks. But the biggest public sector bank The State Bank Of India (SBI)  held exams independently. Criteria for all the bank recruitment projects are given below.

 

 Following are the eligibility criteria for bank job:  The first thing that is  most essentially for the candidate to even appear in any of the bank recruitment process is that the candidate should have passed graduation in any discipline with a good percentage of marks.

Candidates Who are applying for the job in the reserved category (SC/ ST/ PWD or any other such category) minimum percentage of 55% marks is required.

The age limit of the candidates is also the another major criterion considered by the banks in the selection process for the jobs.

Mainly there are two positions to which a graduate  can apply for: 

  • Clerical post – This post means the candidate wants to apply for the jobs of clerk, typist, steno, clerk-cum-cashier,  agricultural clerks, data entry operators and telephone operators.
  • Probationary officer post – This post means the candidate wants to apply for the job of  probationary officers. Under this  the selected candidates will be on probation . Generally, it is for 2 years. The performance of the candidates during their period of training determines the designation that the candidates will receive after training is over.

Eligibility Criteria for Clerks

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India. This is foremost condition.
  • Candidates  applying for the clerical post in a bank, he / she needs to have passed graduation and also +2 with 60% or more marks.
  • Some banks, have minimum required qualification 10 + 2 and the maximum age limit for the candidate applying for the job is 25 years. But in such cases a diploma degree is required to prove that the candidate has brief knowledge about the work that he / she is applying for.
  • The candidate must be between the age group of 18-28 years.
  • There is a age relaxation procedure  for SC/ST/OBC/PH or any other reserved category.
  • Public Sector banks offer Rs 140000/- average salary for entry level clerks per annum.

Probationary Officers (PO) Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India. This is foremost condition.
  • For the post of the probation officer  the candidate’s age should be at least 21 years and not more than 30 years.
  • The candidate should have a degree from any recognized university with 55 % – 60 % marks aggregate. The percentage of marks for this post varies from bank to bank.
  • The candidate must have good knowledge of Computers and especially Micro-Soft Office.
  • Public Sector banks offer  Rs. 200000/- salary an officer receives per annum approximately .

An All India Level examination is taken up to select the various bank jobs.
